Pirates of the Caribbean III
Ready for Take off

Less than a year after the release of the record-breaking hit "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest", Walt Disney Pictures announced the date of the third movie's grand premiere. The sequel of the smash series arrives in theatres on 25 May this year. Its official title was confirmed to be "Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End" by producer Jerry Bruckheimer.
After Davy Jones' heart ended up in the hands of the East India Trading Company and Captain Barbossa's (Geoffrey Rush) surprising return from the dead, our favourite characters Will Turner (Orlando Bloom) and Elizabeth Swan (Keira Knightley) are going on a quest to save the cunning but smart and oh-so-charming Captain Jack Sparrow and his precious Pearl. On their way, they must surmount the enmity and find resemblance in order to survive. "Piracy itself is at stake," says director Gore Verbinski.
The new movie introduces us to some new faces as well. Chow Yun-Fat appears as Sao Feng, Captain of the Chinese ship "The Empress" and the legendary Keith Richards from the Rolling Stones will definitely play the part of Jack's father, Captain Grant Sparrow. It is not announced when a trailer will be released but promotional posters are already on the net.
Fans believe "PotC: AWE" will be this year's record-smashing hit and are already eager to see more romance, more adventure and, of course, more Jack Sparrow.

Pop-folk Music in Bulgaria

/part 1/

Bulgarian popular music comes from Balkan folk traditions and incorporating Arabic, Turkish, Serbian, Macedonian, Greek and Romanian influences, as well as motifs from Balkan traditional music. Often overshadowed by the Bulgarian club and dance music, pop-folk remains popular among teenagers in Bulgaria.

There are several pop-folk music companies in Bulgaria, however, the biggest is Payner. Its chairman is Mitko Dimitrov, a.k.a. "Paynera". He is the boss of the company and he is not very young but he can still take care of everyone - the singers, the team and the progress of the company.

The Bulgarian Pop-Folk Music genre is seen as a second-rate musical genre, originating from foreign sources and known for repetition themes and hook-laden dance rhythms. Its commercial exploitations result in a vibrant night scene, especially in Sofia, as well as many televised videos featuring extravagantly glamorised singers. Pop-folk music comes from a variety of musical styles; for example: rock'n'roll, jazz, folk music, dance, hip-hop and metal. Many pop-folk hits were Greek, Turkish, Arabic, Romanian, Serbian or Macedonian hits, covered by Bulgarian singers often in more complex musical arrangements. In fact, this has led to several cases of copyright infringement. This has sparked an ongoing controversy of music rights in Europe. We will bring you more about this as it develops. Stay tuned for next weeks article.
